Sometimes you stumble upon situations so terrible that you can't help but smile. It's like your brain tries to process the sheer level of unadulterated absurdity and just throws its hands up, opting for a weak, desperate giggle as a coping defense.
But then, you realize that it's not really actually that amusing. It's just plain bad. And the laughter you felt morphs into a sigh.
After all is said and done, you are left with a sense of utter perplexity. You wonder about the purpose of it all. Was this intended to be funny?
Or were we just simply unfortunate enough to witness this spectacle unfold?
Tragedy of Epic Proportions
The earthquake struck with devastating force, destroying entire cities in its wake. Buildings shattered like sandcastles, and the chaos that erupted was deafening. Worst Day Ever
It all started with an case of bedhead hair. I couldn't do it to look presentable. As I was hurrying out the door, I trippedon and gracefully all over the floor. To make matters worse, I was extremely behind schedule for work.

It all started out horribly with more info a simple mishap/incident/screw-up. But then it went from bad to absolutely terrible. A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to throw your hands up.
